VCHS Wrestlers 10 Individuals Place at State 2020

Individual Tournament

The Valley City wrestlers made history again during the State Individual’s Wrestling Tournament. The Hi-Liners had 10 placing wrestlers over the previous record of 7, with 9 of the wrestlers as first-time placers. The wrestlers who achieved this were Parker Larson taking 1st, Koye Grebel taking 2nd, Ethan Miller and Jonah Schuldheisz taking 5th, Broden Muske taking 6th, Austin Rogelstad, Ezra Hanse, and Jonathan Redfearn taking 7th, and Bennett Rogelstad and Carson McGough taking 8th. The wrestlers also took 5th as a team out of a total of 21 teams. This has been an outstanding year for the wrestling team and will be great to watch next year and the years to come.

Dual Team Tournament

During the State Dual Team Tournament, the top four teams from the East and top four teams from the West competed for the first-place spot. The Hi-Liner wrestling team had some great matchups during the tournament going 2-1 overall. The Valley City wrestlers faced off against West-4 Jamestown going 27-47, East-3 Fargo Davies going 44-28, and East-2 Devils Lake going 44-30. The Hi-Liners took home 5th place out of the 8 qualified teams.
