The 2021 NDHSAA State Wrestling Tournament will be held February 18-20 at the FARGODOME located at 1800 University Drive North, Fargo, ND 58102. Fargo Public Schools Athletic Director Todd Olson will serve as tournament manager.

The Valley City Hi-Liners took to the court on Tuesday night in a game against the Fargo Shanley Deacons. The girls were playing at home in the Hi-Liner Activity Center, while the boys were away, and the girls had a quick game. 

The 2021 NASCAR season began on Tuesday, February 9th, with the 43rd Busch Clash at Daytona. Racing continues as the starting lineup is determined for Sunday's Daytona 500 and drivers put in some practice laps.

Valley City High School Senior Alex Thornton has signed with Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, to play Vikings Baseball next year.

VCHS Girls Varsity basketball team went up against the Grand Forks Central Knights on Tuesday night at the Hi-Liner Activity Center in Valley City.

Valley City goes 1-1 in Grand Forks. VCHS wrestling team beat Grand Forks Central 59-18 in dominating fashion and lost 24-46 to Thief River Falls who is ranked #9 in their class in MN.

Logan is a senior and is the starting wrestler for Hi-Liners and is ranked #1 in the EDC at 120 lbs.  He is currently 10-0 on the season, and has yet to give up a takedown. 

Noah Haglund, Valley City High School senior swimming co-op with Jamestown High School, has committed to Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He plans to major in Exercise Physiology and would like to pursue a doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Lexi Leroux recently signed to play volleyball at Valley City State University. Leroux has been a standout player for the Hi-Liner and was a big part in getting her team to the state tournament for their second-consecutive year in 2020, ranked #4 in the Eastern Dakota Conference. They placed…

The 10th Annual Sharp Shooter Showdown 8-Ball Singles Tournament will take place at the Valley City Eagles Club on Saturday, January 30th. Registration will be held from 8:30-10:00 a.m. with the tournament starting at 11:00 a.m. sharp. Tables will be provided by Jamestown Amusement.

North Dakota Game and Fish Department fisheries biologists are encouraging ice anglers to keep fish caught from deep waters.

Valley City wrestlers went to Lisbon for a non-conference dual and to get some good competition. Coach Hansen says the athletes had a good competition. Lisbon was formerly the #1 team in Class B before recently being knocked off by the South Border Mustangs. 

After a three week break from games, the Viper Squirts resumed play on the road against Fargo Freeze Gray and Blue.  Saturday’s game FF Gray resulted in a 5-5 tie, followed by a classic shootout with Brody Kalbrener scoring for the Vipers.

The Hi-Liner wrestling team headed up to Grand Forks Red River for a triangular with Red River and West Fargo Sheyenne. 

Valley City boys’ basketball team faced off against the Red River Roughriders in the Hi-Liner Activity Center Tuesday night. It was a close, well-played game by both teams, but there is only one winner and, in this case, the Hi-Liners were victorious.

VALLEY CITY  The Valley City State University men’s basketball game scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2, has been postponed. VCSU’s opponent, Yellowstone Christian College, has postponed the game until a later date.

The Viper Squirts opened their season with a full plate of 5 games this past weekend.  The Vipers dominated their first game, away at West Fargo Black.  Next were two home games on Saturday, the first against the Northstars and second with the Fargo Angels.

The Valley City Hi-Lites Dance Team recently had their first competition at Fargo Davies High School in Fargo. Coach Megan Gilbertson says that it felt great to finally be able to get out and compete.
