Organizers planning fishing tournaments, including ice fishing contests this winter, must submit an application along with fishing tournament regulations to the North Dakota Game and Fish Department at least 30 days prior to the start of the event.

Midway Lanes in Mandan recently hosted the 2021 ND State High School Bowling Meet.  20 teams competed, 9 Varsity and 11 Junior Varsity from Bismarck/Mandan, Dickinson, Fargo/Moorhead DGF, Grand Forks, Minot, Valley City and West Fargo.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department will continue its Hunter-Harvested Surveillance program during the 2021 hunting season by sampling deer for chronic wasting disease from select units in the central and western portion of the state.

With Seth Zeltinger (12) and Kai Kringlie (11) having earned the #3 seed from the EDC in doubles, they headed to the state tennis tournament for their final matches of the season. Going 4-1 in the state tournament, they earned themselves the consolation championship and a 5th place plaque. 

The state Game and Fish Department’s annual fall aerial mule deer survey is set for mid-October in western North Dakota. Weather permitting, the survey takes about two weeks to complete.

Barnes County North volleyball hosted the Carrington Cardinals this week for a District 5 matchup. the Bison, looor their first win of the season, while Carrington came in with an 8-6-2 overall record.

Hi-Liner Volleyball was back on their home court this week after falling to Fargo Davies last Thursday. The Hi-Liners (4-8) were hosting the West Fargo Packers (7-2) at the HAC, where the home team faced stiff competition. 

After a season off and under new ownership at Sky Lanes, Valley City High School Bowling is back on the lanes. This season they have a roster of 18 bowlers on three teams. The Week-1 Conference meet was at Sunset Lanes, Moorhead.

The Valley City Hi-Liners hosted the Turtle Mountain Braves on Friday as the Hi-Liners looked to get their first win on Homecoming day.
