Rally in the Valley Begins Saturday

Rally in the Valley begins this weekend with a jam packed schedule of events planned for all ages.

The 36th annual Bill Jansen Road Race/Walk starts off the day at 8 a.m. at Hi-Line Park.

The parade will be held at 10 a.m. on Central Avenue, and the Bridge City Cruisers Car Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Other events include food, craft and flea market vendors at Veterans Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., a kid’s area with inflatable games, face painting and ice cream at the Valley City-Barnes County Public Library, a pie social and book drive at the library at noon, the Bitz Tire and Service Burnout Contest on the corner of Central and Main at 2:30 p.m. and the Duckin’ Down the Sheyenne Rubber Duck Race at the City Park Footbridge at 3:30 p.m.

The street dance concludes Saturday’s activities with a performance by FM All Stars on Main Street at 9 p.m.

The Medicine Wheel Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a program at 1 p.m. St. Catherine Catholic School’s 100th Anniversary Alumni Reunion will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club with a social at 5:30 p.m. and banquet at 6:30 p.m. Admission is at the door.

Concluding the weekend is the Dakota Riders Hill Climb on Sunday, June 18.

Also going on in Valley City this weekend is the Barnes County Relay for Life from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Barnes County Courthouse, the North Dakota Winter Show Appaloosa and Paint Show at the Winter Show Event Center and Citywide Garage Sales.
