When folks see Ed Talone stepping into a diner or walking trails along a roadway, they often get the wrong idea.
“People see a backpack and they think I might be homeless,” Talone says. “I’ll ask where to find a good restaurant and they’ll tell me where the Salvation Army is, but I never take it personally.”
He’s not homeless. He’s an avid hiker, having racked up 60,000 miles during his walking career. In covering that territory, he’s hiked both with company and on his own.
