School Closing/Coronavirus
Update on the District Plan for COVID-19 at VCPS

Valley City Public Schools has already begun implementing our distance learning plans and e-learning plans with all students across the district.  I learned yesterday that very few districts have had the response from educators the way that we have had here in Valley City.  Thank you to all of our educators for working so diligently this week to have the educational packets and e-learning resources ready to roll "officially" for the week of March 23-27th.

EXTENDED SCHOOL CLOSURE- Thru Friday, April 3rd
To provide continued opportunities to plan and prepare for distance learning at Valley City Public Schools, we are extending ourSCHOOL CLOSURE thru Friday, April 3rd and will be continuing with distance learning during this time.  Valley City Public Schools will submit our alternative learning plan to DPI on or before Friday, March 27th.  Approval of this plan will allow us to extend the school closure without having to make up these days at the end of the school year.

Next week we will update our District Plan with students and parents/guardians to include specifics on how we will exchange educational materials for the week of March 30th-April 3rd.  Please be looking for this communication on or before Thursday, April 2nd via email.

If you have ANY questions regarding our District COVID-19 Plan or the communications that we have been providing, please contact our school principals and/or our District Office.  We would like to continue to direct our students, parents/guardians to our school website at www.hiliners.org and also our social media sites at Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  An attachment to this email will provide more information on our districts School Meal Plan, Mental Health Services, and Childcare Services for healthcare providers and emergency responders/workers.
