The latest Joint Information Press Conference, coordinated by the North Dakota Department of Health, happened on Thursday evening. Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Josh Johnson was selected to report on the school district, one of which the governor recognizes as a leader in coordinating resources for students and families during the COVID-19 pandemic. He shared that the district’s Meal Pick-Up Plan has served 1,700 meals since the program kicked off on Tuesday, and he also reported that VCPS has partnered with BEK Communications to ensure every student has access to devices and high-speed internet. District officials are also finalizing plans to make childcare opportunities readily accessible to health officials/emergency responders, while continually providing students with mental health resources and support for families.
The Governor and State Superintendent also reported new developments in the state’s response to COVID-19.
