The year that astronomers from University of California saw the birth of a galaxy for the first time was when the Red River Harness and Saddle Club was founded, in 1987 by Phil Hoglund and Gary Griffeth. From there, it has been expanded from its original harness-only base to include riders as well- because as Polly says, “riders are important to a wagon train too!”
The RRHS Club recently had their ‘fun day’ at the Winter Show for their members to learn more about driving and harnessing, or perhaps test a new draft animal they had. The RRHS Club is gearing up for the North Dakota Winter Show, during which they will have members entered in the pony pull, the draft horse pull, the obstacle course, log pull, and even possibly some barrel racers!
