Concern over the shrinking biodiversity of our plates led to the creation of the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society, a nonprofit organization that holds educational seminars and farm tours throughout the year and has a few quarterly publications about research, agricultural news, and new educational resources.
The Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society or NPSAS also holds a winter conference each year. That event spans three days, and in those three days, the NPSAS hosts a trade show, workshops, and seminars.
This year, their Food and Farming Conference is January 23-26 at the Holiday Inn, Fargo. A few topics incorporate pollinators in farming practices, discuss healthy soil and cover crops, show some on-farm case studies, talk about data from the desk, NDSU’s organic ag research, and even including livestock to the farm operation.
