The students at Valley City High School have begun making their plans for the next school year’s schedule. Each student has an independent meeting with either Summer Burchill or Mona Tottingham, the junior and senior high counselors. At this meeting, they choose which classes they would like to enroll in when they graduate to the next year. Classes such as math, english, science, and history are required to graduate, but what about their free periods? These extra classes, known as electives, are a way for students to pursue their interests while still being in school.
