The Valley City Times-Record and the North Dakota Newspaper Association are collaborating on a National Newspaper Week readership promotion in which one family of four from somewhere in the state will win an expenses trip to Washington, D.C., highlighted by a VIP tour of The Newseum.

The contest focuses on readers finding and submitting answers to newspaper trivia questions.

On three Sundays in August, trivia questions will be posted to the Facebook pages of participating newspapers. The answer to the questions will be contained in an ad in the participating newspaper later that week, and readers can be entered into the prize drawing by reporting the correct answers to the question.

The first trivia question will be posted on Facebook pages Aug. 15.

Readers can register for the prize drawing three times by correctly answering each of the three questions.

But that’s not all. Anyone who purchases a new subscription to a participating newspaper during the contest period will be automatically entered into the drawing.

In addition, those who repost the Facebook posts containing the trivia questions will also be entered into the drawing.

The grand prize is the trip to Washington, D.C. during National Newspaper Week, the first week of October. The trip will focus on the VIP visit to the Newseum, one of the most popular museums in the nation’s capital.
