Wednesday Marks 50 Years Since Blizzard of 1966

This is what downtown Valley City looked like following the historic four-day blizzard of 1966.

Wednesday, March 2 marks 50 years since the start of the storm that dumped significantly more snow than what was predicted. The blizzard of 1966 wreaked havoc on Barnes County and much of eastern North Dakota, leaving roads closed, passengers stranded, the North Dakota Winter Show delayed and a state of emergency declared for Valley City.
