Robert (Bob) Lee Becker

Robert (Bob) Lee Becker, 64, of Pembroke Pines FL passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday July 27, 2014. He was born on June 15th, 1950 in Adrian, MN to the late Alfred "Jiggs" and Esther (Slater) Becker.He graduated from St Catherine School (Valley City, ND) in 1968, received a Mechanical Engineering degree from North Dakota State University (Fargo, ND) in 1971 and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Oakland University (Rochester, MI) in 1984. He worked for Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation for over 40 years. In his lifetime, Bob lived in Adrian, MN; Valley City, ND; Fargo, ND; Milwaukee, WI; Boston, MA; Rochester, MI; Davenport, IA; Littleton, CO; Mexico City, Mexico and Pembroke Pines, FL. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Olson) Becker of Pembroke Pines, FL; daughter, Heather Becker of New Orleans, LA; son, Chad Becker of Littleton, CO, mother Esther (Slater) Becker of Mesa, AZ; grandson, Ryan Becker and granddaughter Addison Becker of Littleton, CO. Bob worked for the same company for over 40 years, starting in 1972 with Allen Bradley. His job took him all over the United States, extensively throughout all of Central and South America as well as Europe and Asia. He was Vice President of Latin America for Rockwell Automation starting in 2002 and then promoted to President of Latin America Rockwell Automation in 2005. He retired in October of 2013. He loved to play tennis, snow ski, sail, swim and achieved the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Services were held on Monday, August 4th, 2014 at Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Home at 9000 Pines Blvd Pembroke Pines, FL 33024, with a viewing from 2-9 PM. Memorial service following at the funeral home from 7-8 PM. There was no funeral mass. The Becker family opened their home for an Open House on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2-6 PM. The house is located at 1131 SW 156th Ave Pembroke Pines, FL 33027.
