Man Walking Down Interstate Near Tower City Injured After Being Struck by Semi Early Thursday

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a semi-truck on Interstate 94 near Tower City early Thursday morning.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at 2:45 a.m., Mohamed Abdilahi, 22, of Fargo was walking in the right lane of westbound I-94 one mile west of Tower City when Michael Tetlock, 54, Saskatchewan, driving a 2015 Freightliner swerved left to avoid the pedestrian but was unable to and struck him.

Abdilahi was transported by Sanford LifeFlight to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Responding to the crash was the NDHP, Barnes County Sheriff's Office and the Tower City Fire Department.
