Erickson, Turck, Garcia and Conley Commit to Viking Football

Valley City State head football coach Dennis McCulloch announced on Tuesday the addition of four student-athletes who have signed letters of intent to attend VCSU and play football for the Vikings this fall.

Linebacker Austin Erickson and offensive lineman Spencer Turck are both seniors at Devils Lake High School, where they wrapped up successful prep careers: Erickson was named All-EDC and 2nd Team All-State this season as well as being voted Co-Team MVP. Turck was voted the team’s Outstanding Offensive Lineman and was named All-EDC Honorable Mention.

Linebacker David Garcia, of Bellaire, Texas, was named 1st Team All-District Defense after his senior season.

Conerback Marvin Conley, from Tampa, Fla., recorded 71 tackles
on defense and also played wide receiver for Cocoa Beach High School.

Valley City State posted a 5-5 record in 2013 and won their third straight conference championship under McCulloch.

2013: 71 tackles, 5 FF, 4 PD, 1 defensive TD, 21 receptions, 251 yds receiving, 3 TD; Offensive MVP, Special Teams Award.
