A photo caption in the Oct. 10 edition had the wrong names listed for two people in the photo in the 1971-1973 Mens Golf team. In the article regarding the VCSU Hall of Fame Inductees, golfer Jim Vandrovec is pictured on the far left of the team photo. His twin brother, Joe, is third from the left in the photo.

VCSU Basketball Hosting Alumni Games
With the regular season only weeks away, the Valley City State University basketball teams will be hosting alumni games.
Alumni of both the mens and womens team will take to the floor of the W.E. Osmon field house to test their skills against this year's VCSU teams.
The mens game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a slam dunk contest and 3-point shootout. Entrance is free.
The womens game is scheduled for Oct. 27.

VCHS Cross Country runs at Regionals
Valley City High School sophomore April Berntson earned a spot on the Eastern Dakota Conference all-conference team, taking 16th at the EDC Regional meet Saturday in Wahpeton.
Berntson finished the race in 16:19, just over a minute behind winner Katie Bye, of Fargo Davies.
Berntson was the only Hi-Liner to earn all-conference honors from either the boys or girls teams. The Hi-Liner girls placed eighth as a team with 330 points and the boys took 10th with 581 points.
The teams run again Wednesday afternoon as part of the Hi-Liner challenge at Bjornson Park Public Golf Course as they prep for the state meet Oct. 27 in Dickinson.

MV Volleyball Wins
The Maple Valley volleyball team swept Richland 3-0 Thursday in Richland.
The Raiders got behind stellar net play from Rylee Nudell, who had 11 kills and 3.5 blocks to win 25-14. 28-26, 25-19.
Abbie Tinjum had 11 assists and 12 digs. Katie Pautz had 11 digs and Megan Kasowski had 10 digs, four aces and 1.5 blocks.
The Raiders host Central Cass tonight in their regular season home finale at 7 p.m. in Tower City.

LMM Loses Season-Ender
The Litchville-Marion/Montpelier volleyball team lost its regular season finale 25-8, 25-9, 25-18 Saturday at Napoleon.
Tanys Ulmer led the Rebels with seven skills and one block. Tasha Piehl had eight digs.
The Rebels' district tournament will start Oct. 25.

VCSU Volleyball Wins Again
The VCSU volleyball won its fourth-straight match with a 3-1 win over Presentation College Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D.
The Vikings won 21-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-20 in a match that had three Vikings finish with double-digit kills.
Valley City native Jille Noeske led the Vikings with 16 kills. Gianesi Tarafa had 14 kills and three block assists, and Aurissa Martens had 11 kills. Stephanie Miller had a team-high 28 assists and Emily Plowman had 21 digs.
The Vikings play three matches this weekend at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa.

VCSU XC Runs at Jamestown
The VCSU mens cross country team took third in the Jamestown College Invitational Friday at Hillcrest Golf Course but the womens team didn't have enough runners to register a team score.
The mens meet was won by Minnesota State University — Moorhead, which finished all five scoring runners in the top seven places of the race. All seven of the team's runners were in the top-11.
VCSU's Richard Wright took 8th with a time of 28:15 and was followed by Wayne Englehard, Jose Garcia and Kinsly Tarman, who finished in 13th, 14th and 15th. Malik Jackson took 22nd.
The womesn race was won by Concordia.
Anna Fuka was VCSU's top finisher, taking 11th place with a time of 20:16. She was followed by Summer Romine at 21:36 and Valley City native Jenna Coghlan at 24:57.
The Vikings are scheduled to compete in the Mount Marty Invite this weekend in Yankton, S.D.
