The Barnes County North School Board voted Monday during a special meeting to start school on time this year despite construction on the new centralized campus being behind.
The board met with officials from MBA Construction, parents and patrons Monday at the Spiritwood school to discuss options. Following a recommendation from school administration, the board unanimously voted to begin school on its regularly-scheduled start date of Aug. 27; although, students will be divided into both the east campus near Rogers and west campus in Wimbeldon.
BCN school superintendent Mark Lindahl said how the students will be divided has not yet been decided, but school officials and staff will begin discussing it Tuesday morning.
