June 20 Results
The Valley City Town and Country Club held Men’s Day on Thursday June 20. Golfers endured extreme conditions as a flash flood engulfed the golf course and golfers were banished to the clubhouse to enjoy a delightful meal and drink. Before the rough conditions hit golfers were able to stake their claim at prizes. Left handed Mike Undem continued his fine play by claiming the hole one prize for long putt sponsored by Bank Forward. Ryan Mehus hit the best tee shot on hole two to win a gift sponsored by the Eagles. Josh Holm hit a beautiful approach shot on hole four and received a gift certificate sponsored by Taco John’s.
Bob Bergan hit the long putt of the afternoon on hole five and won a gift sponsored by Sabir’s for his efforts. The Labor Club sponsored the closest to the pin on hole six and it was won by Jeremy Koepplin. The longest drive on hole seven went to Sean Krall and was sponsored by Burger King. TJ Hansen hit the closest shot to the 150 yard marker to win a prize sponsored by City Lights. Carpet Connection sponsored the longest putt on hole nine and it was won by Vern Aus.
June 27 Results
The Valley City Town and Country Club held Men’s Day on Thursday June 29. Tee times were filled as many golfers had waited a week to get on the course again as they waited for the golf course to dry out from torrential rains. TJ Hansen took advantage of the scoring conditions and secured the long putt of the day on hole one sponsored by Bank Forward. The Eagles sponsored the closest to the pin on the second hole and it was claimed by Kirk Olson. Former Hi-Line Cup captain Doug Krall was firing on all cylinders on this day and recorded the only eagle of the afternoon on hole 3 as he won a prize sponsored by the Valley City Town and Country Club. Former club champion Jim Retterath joined the action as he hit a brilliant second shot to claim the prize on hole four sponsored by Taco John’s.
Sabir’s sponsored the longest putt on hole five and it was won by longtime member Ralph Hooper who knows the country clubs greens as well as anyone. TJ Hanson continued his fine play with the closest to the pin on hole six sponsored by the Labor Club. The long drive of the day on hole seven went to Dave Sather and was sponsored by Burger King. Sather continued his hot streak as he also hit the closest shot to the 150 yard marker on hole eight sponsored by City Lights. Not to be out done by his son, Dale Sather closed out the night by hitting the long putt on hole nine sponsored by Carpet Connection as the Sather duo secured a third of all the Men’s Day prizes on this afternoon.
