With Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer, past, it's time to get out the grill, dust off the spatulas, and let the grilling season begin. But first, grillers need to be aware of safety and know how to cook burgers, not themselves or their surroundings.
June and July are peak months for grill fires, according to the National Fire Protection Association. While gas grills cause more home fires, charcoal grillers also need to know that both types of grills pose a risk of fires.
