The North Dakota Highway Patrol said a crash between a semitrailer and a pickup killed six men on Interstate 94 near Jamestown at about 10:55 a.m. Wednesday. The accident happened on eastbound Interstate 94 at mile marker 258.
Sgt. Josh Rude said the six men were in a westbound pickup truck when the driver lost control. The pickup went through the median and was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound semitrailer. The semi trailer was being driven by a 23-year-old resident of Mandan.
Rude says all six men in the pickup were killed.
He said that the driver of the semitrailer was taken to a Jamestown hospital for treatment of what are believed to be minor injuries.
The men’s identities are being withheld pending notification of relatives. The highway patrol said it planned to release their names today.
According to the highway patrol, light snow was falling on the ice-covered road at the time of the crash.
The pickup truck was destroyed. Damages to the semitrailer were estimated at $40,000.
