The September Students of the Month for Valley City Jr High School are Abby Slyter, Tanner Thomsen, Annie Fitzell, and Devin Anderson. The criteria for selection is being a hardworking student, respect for staff and peers, and involvement in school activities.
Tanner Thomsen, seventh grade, is the son of Mark and Paula Thomsen. His favorite subjects in school are math and art. Involvement in extracurricular activities are football, baseball, basketball, student council, and choir. Tanner’s hobbies are making plastic models, working on the farm, doing art, and drawing.
Abby Slyter, seventh grade, is the daughter of Kristin Peterson and Chad Slyter. Her favorite subjects in school are band and choir. Involvement in extracurricular activities are volleyball, softball, and speech. Abby’s hobbies are being with friends, playing guitar, and listening to music.
Annie Fitzell, eighth grade, is the daughter of Christine and Randy Dimmett. Her favorite subjects in school are English and math. Involvement in extracurricular activities is gymnastics. Annie’s hobbies are writing books and stories.
Devin Anderson, eighth grade, is the son of Rocky and Steve Hovland. His favorite subject in school is math. Involvement in extracurricular activities are football, track, and baseball. Devin’s hobbies are snowboarding, chilling with friends, working out at the Rec, and playing video games.
