The National Rifle Association recently endorsed both Republican Dwight Kiefert for the North Dakota District 24 House of Representatives and Democratic North Dakota U.S. House Candidate Pam Gulleson.
According to the NRA, Kiefert has received the NRA’s “AQ” rating for being a pro-gun/pro hunting candidate who supports the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. “The NRA appreciates Dwight’s enthusiasm for the Second Amendment and the attention to firearm-related issues.”
Kiefert is a member of the NRA and is an avid hunter. He enjoys being involved with teaching youth gun safety.
“Pam Gulleson is committed to protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms guaranteed to all Americans,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-Political Victory Fund. “Her strong dedication and voting record have earned her an ‘A’ rating from the NRA-PVF, and we proudly endorse her for election to the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Gulleson accepted the endorsement, saying, “I am strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and will protect and strengthen the rights of law-abiding Americans to own guns for both recreation and personal security. I’m proud to have received the endorsement from the National Rifle Association and look forward to working with the NRA as a member of Congress to protect gun-owners.”
Previously, the NRA endorsed Republican Rick Berg for the U.S. Senate in North Dakota, and Republican Jack Dalrymple for governor.
Kiefert is the only District 24 state house or senate candidate with an NRA endorsement.
“Rick Berg has a proven record of defending the Second Amendment,” Cox said. “Because of his strong support of our rights, Rick Berg has earned an ‘A’ rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF.”
“I am honored to accept the endorsement of the National Rifle Association,” said Berg. “As a hunter and long-time member of the National Rifle Association, North Dakota’s outdoor tradition and legacy are incredibly important to me and my family. I will continue to be a trusted advocate and defender of our Second Amendment freedoms so that future generations of lawful sportsmen and women will have the same opportunities that my son Jack and I enjoy today.”
