National Guard Facilities Groundbreaking

North Dakota National Guard senior leaders joined state and local officials Tuesday, June 30 to break ground on the space where two new buildings for the Guard will be built in Valley City.

The $13 million project will bring needed work space to citizen-soldiers of the Valley City-based 231st Brigade Support Battalion. The project includes two new buildings encompassing more than 45,000 square feet: a vehicle maintenance shop and unheated vehicle storage building. The facilities will support maintenance and repair requirements for the organization's combat and tactical vehicles.
