Rollover Near Oriska Leaves 2 Injured

Two people were injured and a woman faces DUI charges from a rollover on Interstate 94 near the Oriska Rest Area Monday evening.

According to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Heather Butler, 33, of Riverside Iowa, was ejected from the vehicle and lifeflighted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for serious injuries, and Michael Kemp, 35, of Santa Ana, Calif., was transported by Barnes County Ambulance to Sanford Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Butler was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

According to the NDHP, Butler was driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am on Interstate 94 at about 6:25 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle and it entered the south ditch. After entering the ditch, the Pontiac rolled, coming to a rest in the south ditch on its wheels facing northeast.

The crash remains under investigation.

Responding agencies were the NDHP, Barnes County Sheriff's Office, Tower City Fire Department, Barnes County Ambulance and Sanford Life Flight.
