First Neighborhood Flood Control Meeting Set for Thursday

The first public information meeting on flood control will be held Thursday, Jan. 14 for Neighborhood A.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Regional Technology Center, 415 Winter Show Road East.

The meeting is the first of six scheduled over the next few weeks that will look at the long term flood control options for Valley City. Thursday's meeting is for Neighborhood A, from the north end of Valley City to the hospital bridge. It will include discussion of project alternatives, construction impacts and community impact.

Representatives from the City of Valley City and KLJ will be on hand to answer questions and discuss concerns from the community.

Other meetings
Six neighborhood meetings will focus on key areas along the Sheyenne River in Valley City, allowing residents to provide input on permanent flood protection options.

The meeting for Neighborhood B, from the hospital bridge to the power house, will be held Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.

The meeting for Neighborhood C, from the power house to approximately Bettin's Nursery, will be held Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m.

The meeting for Neighborhood D, from Bettin's Nursery to the bridge on Eighth Avenue Southwest, will be held Thursday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m.

The meeting for Neighborhood E, from Eighth Avenue Southwest to Interstate 94, will be held Thursday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.

The meeting for Neighborhood F, south of the interstate, will be held Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m.

All meetings will be held at the Regional Technology Center, 415 Winter Show Road.
