Monday, January 10
Valley City Junior Senior High Art show will be on display through the hallways and cafeteria of the junior/senior high school from 6-8 p.m.

Tuesday, January 11
Barnes County On the Move Walk Away Pounds Class will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center. Paid members get free membership to Curves through Jan. 16.

National Association of Retired and Federal Employees will hold its regular meeting at noon at the Barnes County Senior Center. The Valley City Police Department will present a program on current scams. Prospective members are welcome and may bring an item for the food pantry.

Wednesday, January 13
Barnes County On the Move Walk Away Pounds Class will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center; yoga will be held at 6 p.m. at the Fitness Center.

The Valley City Public School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the board meeting room of the Central Administration Building.

Thursday, January 14
“Grazing into the Winter” Workshop will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. It is sponsored by Barnes County Soil Conservation District, Sheyenne Sedimentation Reduction 319 Grant Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Barnes County On the Move Walk Away Pounds Class will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center; workout at St. Kate's will be held at 6 p.m.

Bank Forward will give a presentation on fraud at 10:30 a.m. at the Barnes County Senior Center. Pinochle will be held at 1:15 p.m.

KLJ will hold a flood protection planning meeting for Neighborhood A, from the north end of Valley City to the hospital bridge at 7 p.m. at the Regional Technology Center, 415 Winter Show Road.

Friday, January 15
Barnes County On the Move Walk Away Pounds Class will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.

Saturday, January 16
Barnes County Wildlife Federation's 33rd annual Lake Ashtabula Fishing Derby will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at Sibley, Cash prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners for perch, walleye and northern pikes. Register at Sibley from 9 a.m. to noon. Call Jay Holm at 701-490-1293 or Josh Holm at 701-840-5269 for questions. Need not be present for ticket prizes. Must be present for random drawings and fish prizes. No glass containers on the ice. No lines in the water until noon. If ice is favorable, the club will allow participants to drive on, drill their own holes, set up and immediately return to shore parking.

Sunday, January 17
Victor Wald Band will perform at the Valley City Eagles Club.
