Monday, November 9
Jefferson Elementary School's second-grade music program, "Sing for the Red, White and Blue" will be held at 2 and 7 p.m. in the gymnasium.

The Valley City City Commission meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

Tuesday, November 10
The Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Board meets at 5:15 p.m.

Wednesday, November 11: Veteran's Day
Valley City Public Schools and St. Catherine's Elementary School will not have classes in honor of Veteran's Day. School will resume Thursday at regular time.

The Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will be closed in observation of Veteran's Day.

The Peterson/Swenson Legion Post 83 will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at Fingal Hall. Everyone is welcome, free-will offering.

The VFW Club, AmVets and DAV will host a smoked pork supper at 5 p.m. at the VFW Club in Valley City. The meal is free to all veterans and their spouses. A free-will offering will be accepted for all others. A beef stew dinner will be served at noon.

The Barnes County Wildlife Club meets at 6 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club.

The Valley City American Legion will host a Veterans Day dinner and program at the club. All veterans, auxiliary members and their spouses are welcome to attend. Social hour is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, November 12
Barnes County Senior Center will hold pinochle at 1:15 p.m.

The Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will host a class called "Strategies for Women" at noon and 6:30 p.m.

A public information meeting to discuss long-term flood control options in Valley City will be held at 7 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club.

Friday, November 13
A spaghetti supper and silent auction benefit for Mark Hill will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club. The event is hosted by the Valley City High School and College High classes of 1960.

The Valley City American Legion will host karaoke at the club. Everyone 21-years-old and older are welcome to attend.

Saturday, November 14
Valley City Eagles Club will have Jim Geiger from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

A free public planetarium shows double feature "Finding Polaris I & II" will be shown at 1 and 1:30 p.m. in room 309 of the Rhoades Science Center at Valley City State University. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.

Sunday, November 15
A holiday preview open house will be held throughout participating Valley City businesses. Christmas items will be on the shelves.
