Monday, Oct. 26
A farmers market will be held in the Rosebud Visitors Center parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

A Homemakers of Today class, called "On the Pulse of Healthful Eating," sponsored by Barnes County's North Dakota State University Extension Office will be held at 3 p.m. at the Ag Country Farm Credit Service building. Susan Milender Toppen will present the class. No pre-registration required.

The Valley City Public School Board meets for a special meeting at 5 p.m. at the Central Administration Building Board Meeting Room. On the agenda is the superintendent evaluation and a letter of resignation/retirement from Superintendent Dean Koppelman.

Tuesday, Oct. 27
University of Jamestown/Valley City State University Fall Job and Internship Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reiland Fine Arts Center at the U of Jamestown. Register at www.uj.edu/career-center.

Valley City Rotary Club's Wine and Beer Tasting Social will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Avenue North, Valley City.

Wednesday, Oct. 28
Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be held at 10 a.m.; story hour with Reada Reedy will be held at 10:30 a.m.; and the book club will discuss "So Many Africas" at noon.

Thursday, Oct. 29
A farmers market will be held Thursday in the Shopko parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Barnes County Senior Center brunch will be served at 10:30 a.m. The center is located at 139 Second Avenue Southeast in Valley City. Call 701-845-4300 for more information.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will host a financial workshop focusing on college funding at 12 and 6:30 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 30
The 11th annual Ruckus at the Rec will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Valley City Rec Center. It is designed as a free event safe for children to wear costumes and have fun. It is especially designed for boys and girls in pre-school through sixth grade.
Children and parents are encouraged to dress up in their costumes to add to the Halloween atmosphere.
The event features carnival games and prizes. Volunteers are needed for the event. Call 701-845-3294 with questions.

Barnes County Wildlife Federation's Buffet Banquet and Auction will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club. A no-host social hour will be held from 5-6 p.m.; the banquet will be held from 6-7:30 p.m.; and the auction begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at L&H Shoe Shop, Northwestern Industries or by calling 701-490-1797.

Jamestown's Haunted Frontier Village is open from 3 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Bring $5 and a non-perishable food item for your ticket.

Saturday, Oct. 31 - HALLOWEEN
Valley City's Congregational United Church of Christ will hold its annual Chuck Wagon Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Takeout and delivery is available by calling the church at 701-845-1977 or Carol Umsted at 701-845-2258.

Jamestown's Frontier Village will have treat night from 5-7 p.m.

Valley City's First Church of the Nazarene is holding its annual trunk or treat in the church parking lot at 913 Riverview Drive from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Valley City State University will have its annual trick-or-treating at McCoy Hall Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In addition to trick-or-treating, residents are planning games and activities. McCoy Hall is on the corner of Viking Drive and Fourth Avenue Southwest and is an all-woman residence hall.

A Halloween dance, featuring local band Really Big Music, will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club.
