Monday, October 5
A farmers market will be held in the Rosebud Visitors Center parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Tuesday, October 6
The Barnes County Commission meets at 8 a.m. in the commission chambers of the Barnes County Courthouse.

The Valley City City Commission meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

Wednesday, October 7
Valley City schools will participate in International Walk to School Day beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be held at 10 a.m. Story hour is at 10:30 a.m. with Scott Wilmes.

Thursday, October 8
A farmers market will be held in the parking lot of Shopko in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Barnes County Senior Center, located at 139 Second Avenue Southeast in Valley City, is hosting pinochle at 1:15 p.m. For more information, call (701) 845-4300.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library is hosting a financial workshop at 12 and 6:30 p.m. The topic focuses on retirement strategies.

Friday, October 9
In honor of National 4-H week, Barnes County 4-Hers will hold a bake sale in the Barnes County Courthouse rotunda from 3-4:45 p.m.

The 55th annual Disabled American Veterans fall auction will be held at 7 p.m. at the Valley City VFW Club.

Saturday, October 10-Sunday, October 11

Saturday, October 10
CHI Mercy Health and Valley City State University are hosting the 7th annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk at VCSU's Lokken Stadium. Registration is at 11 a.m., and the walk begins at noon.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will host lego club at 10:30 a.m., chess at 11 a.m., and Star Wars reads from 12-2 p.m.
