Monday, September 28
A farmers market will be held in the parking lot of the Rosebud Visitors Center in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Dog obedience classes will begin from 6-7 p.m. To register, contact Michelle at the Sheyenne Valley Area Career and Technology Center at (701) 845-0256.

Valley City High School homecoming coronation and a community pep fest will be held Monday at the Hi-Liner Activity Center at 7 p.m.

Valley City High School's PowderPuff football game will be held at 8:15 p.m. at Hanna Field. Funds raised will support the junior class as they prepare for prom.

Wednesday, September 30
Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be at 10 a.m. Story hour with Jolene Hanse will be at 10:30 a.m. The book club, discussing "To Kill a Mockingbird" is at 12 p.m.

Valley City State University Students will host a fundraising event at Pizza Ranch in Valley City from 5-7:30 p.m. to raise money for the 7th annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk.

Valley City State University's homecoming coronation will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Froemke Auditorium.

Thursday, October 1
An inauguration ceremony for Valley City State University President Dr. Tisa Mason will be held at 3 p.m. at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

A farmers market will be held in the Shopko parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Barnes County Senior Center's fall festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Activities include rolls and coffee at 9 a.m.; soup and sandwiches at 11:30 a.m.; bingo at 1 p.m.; a raffle drawing at 3:30 p.m.; and a turkey supper at 5:30 p.m. The center is located at 139 Second Avenue Southeast, Valley City.

Friday, October 2
A tree planting in honor of Valley City State University President Dr. Tisa Mason will be held at 1:30 p.m. in front of McFarland Hall.

Valley City High School's homecoming parade will be held down Central Avenue at 4 p.m. The game will be held at 7 p.m. at Hanna Field. The Hi-Liners will take on the Stanley BlueJays.


The Epworth United Methodist Church will host its annual fall bazaar from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities include shops featuring lefse, kids korner, heavenly bakery, gift baskets and more and a soup and sandwich luncheon starting at 11 a.m. The church is located at 680 Eighth Avenue Southwest in Valley City.

Valley City State University's homecoming parade will be held down Central Avenue at 10:30 a.m.

The Valley City State University Alumni Band will perform at the university's homecoming football game vs. Mayville State University. The game starts at 2 p.m. and band members should meet at Shelly Ellig Field at Lokken Stadium at 1:15 p.m. and should wear anything associated with VCSU. Sunday, October 4
St. Mary's Catholic Church's fall supper will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the church six miles east of Dazey. The event features homemade German sauerkraut and many unique gift baskets.
