The Valley City-Barnes County Friends of the Library is holding membership blitz week. Events include PJ story hour Monday from 6-7 p.m.; "Blitzards" Tuesday served from 5:30 to 6 p.m., following the showing of Pitch Perfect 2; snacks at Story Hour Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.; "Ooops coupon" for library fine forgiveness Thursday from 6-6:30 p.m; and Lego Club with snacks Saturday from 10:30 to 11 a.m.Receive special giveaways when you visit the library and join the Friends group any time during blitz week. The Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals and the Valley City Veterinary Hospital are teaming up for their annual spay and neuter week through the 25th of September. The vet clinic will provide a 15 percent discount and the SVFA will pay $25 toward each procedure. Call (701) 845-3662 to make an appointment. Mention this promotion. Owners must provide proof of an updated rabies vaccination or the pet will receive a rabies shot at the owner's expense.

A farmers market will be held in the Rosebud Visitors Center parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

The American Legion Auxiliary meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion in Valley City.

Wednesday, September 23
Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be held at 10 a.m. Story hour with Reada Reddy will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24
Barnes County National Resources Conservation Service field tours will held from 9 a.m. to noon. Wednesday will feature cattle and cover crops at the Greg Smith Ranch on Highway 46, 8.5 miles west and one mile north of Litchville. Thursday will feature a salinity plot field tour 2.7 miles west of Kathryn or 14.5 miles south and 2.8 miles east on Highway 1.

Thursday, September 24
Barnes County Senior Center pinochle tournament will be held at 1:15 p.m. The center is located at 139 Second Avenue Southeast, Valley City. Call (701) 845-4300 for more information.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will hold a financial workshop, "Long Term Care" at 12 and 6:30 p.m.

A farmers market will be held in the Shopko parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Friday, September 25
District 24 Democratic annual fall round-up fundraiser will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club. A silent auction will be held at 5:30 pm., a buffet meal at 6 p.m. and a live auction at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, September 26

Valley City High School music boosters bake sale will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Riverbend Farm south of Valley City on the Kathryn Road.

A weekend market at King School, five miles south of Valley City on the Kathryn Road, will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sheyenne Valley Arts and Crafts Association's 48th annual fall festival will be held in Fort Ransom, N.D. Gates are open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No pets. Read Tuesday's Times-Record for more information.

St. Agatha's fall supper will be held at the American Legion Hall in Hope, N.D. from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu includes turkey, dressing, meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, squash, coleslaw and an assortment of pies.s
