Monday, September 14
A farmers market will be held in the Rosebud Visitors Center parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

National Active and Retired Federal Employees is hosting a blood drive at the Valley City Eagles Club from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call Mary Ann at (701) 845-2943 to make an appointment.

Tuesday, September 15
The Barnes County Commission meets in the commission chambers of the Barnes County Courthouse at 8 a.m.

Hospice of the Red River Valley invites health care professionals to its Lunch and Learn from noon to 1 p.m. as the organization continues to explore various topics related to end-of-life care. The Lunch and Learn will be held at 1240 West Main Street in Valley City and connected via video conference to the Fargo office. Pre-registration is required because space is limited. Barnes County Senior Center will hold a Medicare fraud presentation at noon. The center is located at 139 Second Avenue Southeast, Valley City. Call (701) 845-4300 for more information.

The Valley City City Commission meets at City Hall at 5 p.m.

Valley City Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be held at 10 a.m. Story hour with Roberta Lemnus will be at 10:30 a.m.

Hospice of the Red River Valley will offer a free Journeying Through Grief class designed for adults who are recently bereaved in the Valley City office at 1240 West Main Street from 2-4:30 p.m. Registration is required because space if limited. To register, call (800) 237-4629 and ask for the bereavement department or email bereavement@hrrv.org.

The Valley City Public School Board meets at the Central Administration Building at 5 p.m.

Thursday, September 17
A farmers market will be held in the parking lot of Shopko in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

Barnes County Deputies fourth annual Valley City State University vs. Sheriff's Deputies football game and silent auction will be held at 7 p.m. at VCSU's Shelly Ellig Field. Proceeds from the event will go towards training and equipment for the deputies.

The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series presents Dr. Gilbert Kuipers, Valley City State University: "Global Climate Change and a Personal Adventure" at 7 p.m. at the Barnes County Museum. The series is free and open to the public.

Friday, September 18-Saturday, September 19

Saturday, September 19
A farmers market will be held in the Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street in Valley City from 10 a.m. to noon.

Barnes County Hippology Team is having a fundraiser brat feed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Meat Supply on West Main Street in Valley City.

Sunday, September 20
Waldheim Lutheran Church in rural Kathryn will hold a meatball and lefse dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event also features a bazaar and baked goods sale.

St. John's United Methodist Church in Wimbledon will host its annual turkey supper from 4-7 p.m. The meal features turkey with all the trimmings and pie. The bazaar will open at 3:30 p.m. with baked goods, produce and craft items.
