Strong to Severe Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Potential for Later Today and Tonight

June 2, 2015

Strong to Severe Thunderstorms are expected to develop in south central North Dakota this afternoon, moving into eastern North Dakota in the late afternoon and crossing into western Minnesota through the early to mid evening, according to the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks.

The highest threat for severe weather is generally along and south of the Highway 2 corridor. The highest threat for heavier rainfall and flash flood potential is along and north of Highway 2 corridor.

BREAKING: VC Cab Robbery Suspect Sought

The Valley City Police Department is searching for the suspect in a Sunday night taxi-cab robbery.

At about 10 p.m., a cab driver for the South Central Adult Services had just dropped a customer off near MyBar at 240 E. Main Street, Valley City when he was flagged down by a man that entered the cab and asked to be driven to the corner of 12th Avenue Southeast and East Main Street.

Congratulations to us! The Valley City Times-Record brought home nine awards from this year's North Dakota Newspaper Association convention. We received one first place, three seconds, two thirds, and three honorable mentions for papers under 12,000 circulation. We are the smallest paper in the division going up against papers two- to three times our size. Your local paper, this paper, is one of the best in the state. Our awards say so.
