Sabir Buys Buffalo City Grill in Jamestown

Nam Sabir, owner of Sabir's Dining and Lounge in Valley City, has bought Jamestown's Buffalo City Rotisserie Grill which he will rename Sabir's 2 and open next week.

Sabir said Thursday he has been working with the chefs in Jamestown and the plan is to keep many of the items on the existing menu and add a few extras, some from his restaurant in Valley City.

The agreement was finalized last week, and Sabir hopes to open Thursday, Feb. 5.

Sabir assures that he will not close his Valley City restaurant.

Warrant Wednesday: Joseph Uffelman

Each week, local law enforcement asks for help from the community in locating individuals who have warrants out for their arrest.

Joseph Allen Uffelman, 28, is wanted by the Barnes County Sheriff's Office on an outstanding warrant for failure of the 24/7 program. Uffelman was originally arrested for prohibited possession of a firearm, a class C misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor; and simple domestic assault, a class B misdemeanor.

Uffelman is a white male with red hair and blue eyes. He is six feet tall and weighs 165 pounds.

Creative Therapy to Offer Addiction Counseling

Creative Therapy in Valley City has been approved to offer addiction counseling as of Feb. 1.

Owner Jennifer Eberle said Mental Health Counselor Mary Burchill, also a licensed addiction counselor, will be able to start adult outpatient chemical dependency services Feb. 1.

Former VC Man Walking with Lisbon Native Wife Across U.S.

Former Valley City man, David McDonald, is walking across the United States with his new wife, Natallie (Jones) McDonald, a Lisbon native. The pair began their journey in St. Augustine Beach, Fla. Thursday, Jan. 22. They married Monday along the way.

The McDonalds started their walk they call "1 Step at a Time" at the Atlantic Ocean, and intend to stay south, walking all the way to the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, Calif.
