Dino Hunter to Speak About Display at Museum

Alan Komrosky, the paleontologist who dug up and put together the Triceratops skeleton that's on display at the Barnes County Museum, will speak about the creature Thursday at 7 p.m.

The lecture, titled, "Resurrecting Bob: The journey from discovery to public unveiling," is part of the Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series taking place at the museum.

Former VCSU Student Sentenced to More Than 30 Years

A former Valley City State football player was sentenced Thursday to more than 30 years in prison for murder and attempted murder.

Cederic Chappell, Jr., 22, was convicted in August of aiding and abetting second-degree murder for the benefit of a gang in the death of Willie James Smith, III, and attempted second-degree murder in the wounding of another man at a Minneapolis, Minn. nightclub.

Riding to Remember

Turnout was big for the 9/11 tribute ride Sunday. Sponsored by the local chapter of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, the event was held as a way to honor the memories of the men and women who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Money raised during the event will go to local fire and accident victims.
