Zach Doty Takes 182-Pound State Wrestling Title, 6 of 13 Hi-Liners Place

Top-ranked Hi-Liner senior Zach Doty won the 2014 North Dakota Class A State Individual 182-pound championship Saturday at the Bismarck Civic Center after scoring 26 team points with a pin of Grand Forks Red River sophomore Logan Goulet in 35 seconds, a pin of Williston junior No. 8 Coy Turnquist in 3 minutes and 21 seconds, an 8-3 decision over Turtle Mountain-Belcourt junior No. 5 Brandon Rodriguez and a 3-2 championship decision over West Fargo senior No. 2 Kyle Kragnes.

Doty finished his high school career on top having improved upon his second-place 170-pound finish at State last year.

Senior Josiah Crump took eighth this year at 106 pounds, sophomore No. 4 Jake Ashline fifth at 132, senior No. 4 Mark Miller fifth, senior No. 7 Dustin Lindgren seventh at 182 and sophomore No. 3 Jordan Magnuson third at 220 as six of 13 Hi-Liners who made the trip placed.
