The Valley Youth Choir, under the direction of Dr. Sara Hagan, has been rehearsing for its spring concert which will be held in April.
The choir, part of the Valley City State University Community School of the Arts, is made up of 12 youth between third and eighth grades. The children, who come from all over the surrounding areas, gather for weekly rehearsals where they learn to work together, get voice training and gain appreciation for the music.
"We're a team, we work together," Hagen said.
Other music programs available through the VCSU Community School of the Arts include private lessons as well as a civic orchestra and Valley Voices adult choir.
