Wisconsin man led officers on I-94 pursuit

May 23, 2012

Blake Curtis Dinger, 42, of Bloomer, Wiscinson was cited for fleeing to elude by Jamestown police officers after leading units from Barnes and Stutsman counties on a pursuit down Interstate 94.

Police Chief Ettinger of the Jamestown Police Department said that officers received a call that there was an erratic driver at about mile marker 256 in the east bound lanes of I94. Two Jamestown Police Department units soon got behind the Jeep Cherokee.

When the driver would not pull over, two sheriff department units from the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department were called, Ettinger said.
Valley City officers Deputy Hager, Sergeant Swenson and Officer Sather also assisted in the pursuit upon receiving a call at 6:11 p.m. from the Highway Patrol in Jamestown.

The vehicle stopped at around 6:30 p.m. after hitting spike strips put out by the highway patrol at mile marker 281. The sheriff’s report said the vehicle was clocked at traveling at a speed of 56 mph just before stopping.

The driver did not appear to be intoxicated and no arrest was made for a DUI, according to Ettinger.
