Wimbledon Museum Opening for Summer

May 23, 2013

The Midland Continental Depot museum will open for the summer this weekend. The photo shows the depot's display of deceased jazz singer Peggy Lee's connection to Wimbledon.

This weekend marks the seasonal opening of the Midland Continental Depot museum in Wimbledon, which opened last year to showcase the Midland Continental Railroad that was supposed to run from Winnepeg, Canada to Texas but never ended up crossing North Dakota borders.
The museum will open for the first time this summer over the Memorial Day weekend and will remain open daily until Labor Day from 1 to 4 p.m. and at other times by appointment.
Summer visiting hours will begin Saturday with Peggy Lee's grandson and wife Dave and Carol Foster, Nevada, acting as tour guides. The museum will be closed Sunday but open again Monday.
