Valley City State University menâ€™s basketball coach Jeff Kaminsky announced on Friday that 6-foot-1-inch guard Marcus Weeks of Yuma, Ariz., has signed a letter of intent to attend Valley City State and play basketball for the Vikings this fall.
A three-year starter and Gila Ridge High Schoolâ€™s leading scorer in 2013, his senior season, Weeks averaged 14.3 points, 5.1 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game as he helped Gila Ridge High School to a 17-11 record this season.
â€śWe are excited to have Marcus join our program,â€ť Kaminsky said. â€śHe will be a great addition on and off the court. His skill, quickness,
intelligence and competitive toughness will help him to have an immediate impact on our program.â€ť
Weeks leaves Gila Ridge with the school record for points in a season (368) and points in a career (864). He was named the Yuma Sun/Yuma Rotary Club 2013-14 Boys Basketball Player of the Year, and was named a First Team All-Section in Division II, Section VII.

He is a tough kid who is a good team player and a competitor.
