National Weather Service meteorologist Peter Rogers in Grand Forks said Thursday after a week of wildly ranging weather, the weekend is looking like it will shape up nicely.
“Looks like a good weekend overall,” said Rogers. “Precipitation-wise we’re going to be dry all weekend, region-wide, not just in the Valley City area.”
While Friday may see some scattered rain activity early on, the clouds are expected to quickly clear out. The overnight low from Friday into Saturday will be around 39 degrees and Saturday’s high temperature is predicted to be 69. From Saturday night into Sunday morning the mercury could dip down to 44 but will bounce back for a Sunday high of 74 degrees.
Despite strong winds throughout the past week, the breeze is predicted to subside on Saturday with light winds from the west that will increase slightly on Sunday.
“It’ll be pretty nice, people should get out and enjoy it,” Rogers said.
The next chance for rain will be midweek with showers expected to move into the area around Wednesday.
