Vikings Make It 4-4 Against Mayville

Hot bats and good pitching led the Vikings sweep of the Mayville State Comets.

The Valley City State University Viking softball team finished their home opener perfectly against the Mayville State Comets. The Vikings scratched out a playing field at Lokken Stadium, took two from the Comets on Thursday, and then another two on Friday. The Vikings are now 7-21 overall.
Samantha Nalley picked up the win and a shutout in the first game going four innings and giving up four hits. Torri Fenton got the save pitching in just the fifth inning, giving up no hits, and getting one strikeout. Neither pitcher gave up a walk. The "mercy rule" brought the game to an end after five.
