Viking Softball Suffers Jamestown Sweep

(VCSU Athletics) Viking junior right-hander Lindsey White scattered 12 Jamestown hits and allowed three runs (two earned) in seven innings in Tuesday’s late 3-2 eight-inning loss

Having weathered several early-season delays since returning from their Tucson, Ariz. Spring Trip, Viking softball kicked off their conference-season-opening doubleheader against the Jimmies Tuesday in the confines of Shelly Ellig Field.

Viking pitching persisted but Jamestown came away with the sweep, taking the first contest 4-1 and the second 3-2 in eight-inning fashion.

The Vikings host Mayville State in a noon-and-2 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
