After starting the game on a 9-0 run, the Valley City State womens basketball team never fell behind en route to their most convincing victory of the season with, a 90-49 win over Presentation College Thursday at W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
It's the team's first 90-point game since the Vikings beat Minnesota — Morris 93-88 in overtime in the 2010-2011 season.
Though the Saints responded and cut the Viking lead to a two points on two occasions early in the first half, the Vikings controlled the rest of the way.
An efficient offense that saw the Vikings shoot 47% for each half and nail six 3-point shots in the first half and seven in the second paced Valley City State in the win.
The Viking offensive balance was on display as eight players scored at least six points led by Brittany Lehner who scored 15 in 14 minutes of play. Freshmen Ashli Lee and Erika Ettl both came off the bench with double figures for Valley City, scoring 13 and 12, respectively. The Vikings also had three players with four or more assists, led by Katelyn Ralston with five.
The win is the Vikings' seventh straight since losing their home opener.
VCSU Men Win 69-55

Gus Kueber shot 7-10 from the floor, including 3-5 from the 3-point line to lead all scorers with 20 points. Kueber also pulled down nine rebounds, narrowly missing the double-double, and was one of two players with nine rebounds, including Dillon Ostrom.
