Jean Schlegel/VCTR CROP Hunger Walk 2007 was a success again this year with about 50 walkers participating. Despite the cool, windy weather there were people of all ages who said they enjoyed walking. Joe DeMasi, local musician, sang and played the guitar for about 25 minutes before the walk. Sharon Buhr and Rev. Ellen Arthur spearheaded the walk with many helpers. Twenty percent of the donations go to the Barnes County Food Pantry. Last year, $8,553 was raised to help fight world hunger. Much of that goes to benefit the overall work and ministry of Church World Service, working in some 80 countries.
