By Jean Schlegel Valley City Times-Record Ron McLeod of Fingal was presented with two awards this week by the American Legion and its Auxiliary of Fingal for 60 years of continuous membership in the American Legion. One award is from the local unit and the other one is national. McLeod was born in Erie, N.D., and drafted into the U.S. Air Corps in February of 1943. He served in the China Burma India Theater. McLeod was discharged on Dec. 28, 1945, and then returned to Erie, went to college and worked at the Erie bank until moving to Fingal.
