By Steve Browne Valley City Times-Record Richard Linnerooth, attorney for Cassandra Rieger, charged in the death of her boyfriend’s 14-month-old son, announced Friday that he has filed for a change of plea intent hearing. The hearing has been set for April 19 at 1 p.m., but Linnerooth said that he may ask for the hearing to be rescheduled for March 25, the same day as Rieger’s boyfriend James Thompson’s hearing. Thompson’s attorney had previously announced filing for a change of plea intent hearing on the same charge. The couple were charged with felony murder after the death of Thompson’s son Marcus while in their care. The infant’s death was ruled the result of malnutrition and neglect. Both had originally pled not guilty.
