By Jean Schlegel Valley City Times-Record You’ve seen the pink T-shirts all over town. Many are in stores, just waiting to be bought, and others are being worn by people who care. They proclaim, “Are You Tough Enough to Wear Pink?” Have you wondered what it’s all about? In a word, it’s all about ... cancer. The North Dakota Winter Show and the Barnes County Relay for Life have partnered up to raise funds to help fight cancer. Tom Nix, a former NDWS director, came back from the PRCA Rodeo in Minot this fall and suggested that the Winter Show have “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” day during the Sunday rodeo performance. The NDWS has purchased the shirts and is paying for the advertising on the shirts and for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign. The shirts sell for $10 each. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will be donated to Barnes County Relay for Life. Shirts can be purchased from Leevers, Pamida, Foss Drug, Bank Forward, First Community Credit Union or from any Relay for Life team member until Feb. 26. From there on, the pink T-shirts will be for sale at the NDWS building.
