Trial date set for couple accused of child’s death |

  VALLEY CITY (AP) — A July trial has been set for a man and woman accused of killing his 14-month-old son.
Cassandra Riediger, 18, and James Lee Thompson, of Valley City, are charged in the death of his son, Marcus, who authorities said was starved and dehydrated.
Thompson and Riediger have pleaded not guilty to murder.
Thompson’s public defender, Steve Mottinger, said his client and Riediger will stand trial on July 14 in Valley City.
Mottinger and Riediger’s public defender, Richard Linnerooth, said they did not know whether they will ask a judge to move the trial out of Valley City.
