Political Pick-up Truck
Friday, 02 November 2007
Keith Colville is getting some attention with his pickup that he spent two weeks on (and lots of work), painting it a patriotic red, white and blue with  white stars. He's supporting 2008 presidential candidate, Ron Paul, a Republican Texas congressman. Colville said Paul is an obstetrician who has delivered more than 4,000 babies and is being virtually ignored by the press. However, Paul is enjoying phenomenal success in a realm of the media that did not even exist in former President Jimmy Carter's day: the Internet. Many compare Paul to Carter. Colville wants to get some publicity for Paul, and he's doing that by dressing up his pickup and advertising Paul's name. Colville said he has a $500 pickup and it cost him about $100 to dress it up. When one man saw the pickup, he offered Colville $1,000 for it. But, Colville has other plans for the pickup. He may enter it in some upcoming parades or other events. (Jean Schlegel/VCTR)
