Valley City said farewell to flooding Saturday by burning sandbag pallets as part of Community Days, the annual city celebration. The bonfire and cookout drew a couple of hundred people, said Valley City Fire Chief Gary Retterath. The parade on Central Avenue on Saturday morning also drew a crowd. Valley City State University’s traditional viking ship float and Jamestown’s El Zagal clowns took part. (Photo by Steve Collins)
